As sleek, supertall towers rise up all over Manhattan, 70 Vestry is something of a throwback. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern, whose eponymous firm is known for its grand, prewar-style apartment houses, the 13-story condo development was inspired by Tribeca’s warehouse architecture. Metal-framed casement windows punctuate the handsome limestone facade, which steps back as it rises, creating terraces—and unimpeded views of the Hudson River—for many of the residences.

Daniel Romualdez brings the same attention to detail that he is known for among his private clients (Tory Burch, Daphne Guinness, Aerin Lauder, to name a few) to this elegant condominium development. From the oak-and-brass clad lobby to graceful, generously proportioned residences, his goal was to create a feeling of comfort. “The greatest luxury when you come home is to be taken care of, to feel cocooned,” Romualdez said. The 46 apartments, ranging from two to seven bedrooms and from 1,900 square feet to more than 7,000 square feet, have views of the Hudson, Tribeca, or the serene courtyard and are outfitted with Miele Combi-Steam ovens, Sub-Zero refrigerators, and, in most cases, two washers and dryers.

The location, directly across from Hudson River Park, with views of the water and the Statue of Liberty, is yet another all-seasons perk.
