The building surrounds Beacon Court, a public outdoor space in the center of the block that architects Pelli Clarke Pelli envisioned as an “urban room.” The building’s sustainable design includes a glass-clad exterior that invites in plenty of natural light. Commercial and office spaces fill the lower floors.
Midtown East is home to historic landmarks like Grand Central Terminal and the Chrysler Building and the epicenter of New York City’s 21st-century super-tall building boom. Interior designer Jacques Grange, known for successfully mixing traditional and contemporary elements in his spaces, designed One Beacon Court’s lobby and hallways. The 105 residences have floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto Midtown Manhattan and Central Park.
