A founding member of world-renowned firm Arquitectonica, architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia is behind prominent buildings in nearly all of the world’s major cities. For Oceana Bal Harbor, Fort-Brescia sought to create a minimalist glass structure that didn’t compete with the surrounding “forces of nature.” The 60-foot-high breezeway he placed between Oceana Bal Harbour’s two structures serves to connect the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. “Here,” says Fort-Brescia, “the emptiness was more important than the object.”
A seaside paradise at the northern tip of Miami Beach, Bal Harbour is home to some of the world’s most luxurious resorts and residences.
