Inside the Rich Material World of The Hayworth

By: LX Collection

On New York City’s Upper East Side, luxury condominium The Hayworth is subdued on the outside, sumptuous on the inside. The solid three-quarter-inch white oak floors of the residences are the base for a world of rich materials, from Glassos crystalized glass kitchen countertops and backsplashes to custom walnut cabinets with satin nickel hardware.

Marble is a signature material in all 61 units, which were designed by Lee Mindel of SheltonMindel. Calacatta Vision marble covers the powder rooms’ book-matched floors, walls, and vanities, while the kitchen islands are made from Calacatta Calvani. In the master bathrooms, walls and countertops are made from solid white Thassos marble, while secondary bathrooms feature Botticino marble tile floors and accent walls. The condominium’s windows and walls were designed with owners’ art collections in mind, but the materials are museum-worthy in themselves.
